Volunteer Projects / Work Dates

For over 50 years, Alpha has been built and expanded from the ground up with the generosity and hands-on work of our amazing and beloved volunteers!  We are always deeply grateful for each and every person who offers a helping hand at our peaceful haven in the woods, tackling projects ranging in size from yard clean-up work or small repairs, to building completely new structures. 

For 2024, we are excited to announce that our GROUP Volunteering calendar is already completely booked up for the entire year!!  We have multiple projects in mind that these wonderful groups will be tackling this year to continue to improve and expand our campus facilities for the kids. 

We will not be able to schedule any additional group volunteering trips to Alpha for 2024; however, we DO plan to arrange a Saturday WORK DAY once each quarter which will offer a volunteering day on our campus for anyone who would like to come out and give a helping hand!  Liking/Following our FACEBOOK page is a great way to become aware of any upcoming  Volunteer Project Work Days that you might be interested in!

Priority List of Projects Available for Volunteers 

Alpha House Needs

• This 50-year-old residence is needing a complete makeover throughout to give this house new life, to become fresh and welcoming once again for children to come.  This is more easily accomplished while the residence is temporarily unoccupied.  There are 6 children’s bedrooms, 2 children’s bathrooms, and a master bedroom/bathroom that need some love and attention.  What project(s) do you see below that you might be able to adopt??
• New Closet Doors Need For Every Closet
• Boys’ Bathroom – Vanity, Sink Top, and Mirror Replaced/ Drywall Repair / Walls & Ceiling Painted / Replace Old Caulk
• Girl’s Bathroom – Replace Flooring
• Update Individual Battery Operated Smoke/CO Detectors To A Wired In Consolidated System Throughout
• Gas or Wood Pellet Fireplace Insert?
• Tile Basement Concrete Floors (Hallway, 3 Utility/Storage Areas, Large Laundry Room)
• Laundry Room – Redesign Laundry Folding Station & Storage
• Replace Drop Ceiling Panels In One Basement Storage Room and Apartment Areas
• Box In Water Main Shut Off Valve In Basement
• Insulate Attic
• Clean Duct Work, Needs a Professional
• Wrap Around Wood Deck Refurbishment / Repair / Replace As Needed 
• Replace 50+ year Old Crumbling Concrete Sidewalks And Patios In Front Of Walk-Out Basement Areas.
• Remove Some Trees

Grace House 

• Lawn Install & Landscaping

Faith House Needs

• Install Dropped Ceiling in Basement Storage Room
• Concrete Sidewalk To Entrance Needed

• Final Interior Finish Trim Work (Paint, Cut, Install Trim)

Hope House Needs

• Bathroom Partial Remodel / Update
• Install Outdoor Water Hydrant
• Clean Duct Work

Fahola Staff/Office House

• Replace Concrete Front Porch
• Repair Rock Siding

Snavely Education Center School Facility Needs

• Paint Exterior
• Annual Playground Maintenance
• Finish Stairs

Around The Ranch

• Firewood Work
• Fence Replacement for Animals
• Land Clearing of Cedar Trees / Clearing Fence Lines
• Grounds Work

Professional Services

• Household Duct Cleaning

Note: There are many other areas of volunteer need in addition to the priority list above. We have a more extensive list of specific projects available that include Mowing Grounds, Interior & Exterior Painting, Gardening, Landscaping, Fencing, General Clean Up & Maintenance Around The Ministry, and Counting & Packaging UPCs for Submission. If you would like to come help out, let us know how many people would like to come, what skill set the group might have, and what kind of budget you have when you call to inquire, and we can help you pick a project to fit your specific group & skill set.
